Practice and Professional Experience
Prior to joining McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus, Nick served as Deputy General Counsel at the Massachusetts Department of Labor, managing the Wage and Hour Law programs for the Commonwealth. Nick was responsible for interpreting the Massachusetts prevailing wage law, the minimum wage law and the overtime law, including application of the Fair Labor Standards Act to complementary Massachusetts employment laws. In addition, Nick worked for the Boston firm Vena, Riley, Deptula LLP, where he concentrated on construction litigation representing a broad range of clients, including public and private owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers. Nick began his legal career as a law clerk and associate at Davey & Davey, a small firm in Canton, MA where he worked on various transactional matters as well as general litigation. Prior to his legal career, Nick worked in the field of architecture for DRA Architects, Inc., working on many school and courthouse projects throughout Massachusetts. Nick is a native of the Berkshires, having grown up in Stockbridge, where his parents continue to reside.
